Last week we had to say goodbye to our new friend, April, after she completed her month long exchange with us at Nigawa. April first became interested in Japan after meeting a Nigawa student who was on exchange at her school in Arizona, Saint Mary’s Catholic High School, last year. Although she doesn’t study Japanese, April had been interested in Japan for some time and wanted to make the most of her summer vacation by taking on a new experience. And what an experience she had! So many new friends and a whole new outlook on the world! And it was her first ever trip outside America!

We are going to miss her so much, but wish her all the best as she begins Year 11 this August. She has also promised to take care of the 3 Nigawa students who will be going to Saint Mary’s this year. Thanks April!
